I like to paint in acrylics as many of my paintings are built up layer upon layer. Some paintings start out green and blue and end up all shades of red and pink! I just keep painting and adding various colours, brushstrokes and splashes until I feel it's finished. If I worked this way in oils each painting would take months to dry. I love the fact I never know how it's going to end. I often start with an idea in mind but the works seem to have a life of their own and often take me on a journey rather than the other way round. I think you can tell from just looking at the work I really get a lot of enjoyment producing them. Working with such gorgeous vibrant colours can't help but make you feel good.
